Poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima) is a deciduous shrub which is native to western Mexico. It is popular winter houseplant during the holidays. The latex of the plant is poisonous and contains complex diterpene esters (e.g., phorbol esters) and mitogenic lectins.
