Cycas revoluta also known as sago palm, is a widely cultivated cycad which is often grown outdoors in warm temperate and subtropical regions. Sago palm is highly poisonous to animals and humans if ingested.
Toxic components
All parts of
C. revoluta are toxic to poultry. However, it's seeds contain the highest levels of the toxin cycasin, which causes gastrointestinal irritation, and in high doses, liver failure.
